Rhapsody Arts Center presents an exciting array of choirs for every age. If you love to sing, we have something for you! Choirs available may vary per semester. Please call 848-2045 with any questions about availability or rehearsal times.

SCHOOL YEAR 2007-08

Ages 9-19 by audition or instructor recommendation

This co-ed choir performs multi-part challenging pieces with an emphasis on classical works and foreign language pieces. Vocalists will enjoy a top-notch choir experience and benefit from an annual guest conductor workshop, performances with professional music groups at area venues, and prepare for recitals and small ensemble performances as well. This group performs both sacred and secular literature.

We are always auditioning new singers. Please call to schedule a time to meet with our director.
Or by Instructor Recommendation

Audition preparation: sing a prepared 16-measure solo selection; an accompanist is provided, please bring the accompaniment. Auditionee will also demonstrate basic ear training and sightreading capabilities.

RACH CHOIR

Homeschool choir for ages 6-16
(Rhapsody Arts Choir for Homeschoolers)

This choir provides homeschool students with an introduction to ensemble singing. No experience is necessary, just a desire to make a joyful noise! Students will learn beginning solfege as well as staff and rhythmic notation in addition to singing quality (and fun!) literature. Performances are held 2-3 times per year. This group performs both sacred and secular literature.

LITTLE VOICES

Ages: 5-6

Tuesdays 3:15-4:00pm

The littlest singers come together and get their first lessons in song. This class introduces music notation and beginning singing techniques through instrument play and fun music games. The Little Voices choir will put on a show for family and friends the last day of class. Materials included.

TEAM SING

Ages: 6-10

Tuesdays 4-4:45pm

Explore your voice with different styles of music and some familiar favorites! Express yourself with solos and together with ensembles. You will build your confidence and increase your projection with vocal exercises and proper posture. Take a look at beginning harmonies and sight-singing concepts in this fun beginning singing class. Materials included.
