Britton Rice grew up in Wilmette, IL and Madison, WI. His musical life began when he joined the Shorewood Elementary School Choir at the age of 5 and graduating to violin in the Shorewood Elementary School Orchestra by the age of 8. He switched to drums at the age of 13, much to the dismay of his orchestra teacher, and immediately co-founded the band, The 4 O’ Clock Tragedy, later signed to Isthmus Records in 1997 and winning “Drums & Moore’s Best Drummer.”

After graduating high school, Britton attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, receiving a Bachelor’s in Political Science and Business Management in 2003. Outside his college studies, he continually earned a reputation as a talented session drummer, furthering his experience and study of drums and percussion.

Over the past 13 years, Britton has recorded, produced and toured with over 30 artists to date, including recently The Lucas Cates Band and POLYDREAM, winning multiple awards in the process.

In 2006, Britton’s band POLYDREAM released the critically acclaimed “A Rigid Shard of Balance:1” and playing rigorously in support of the EP, successfully touring with acts such as The Verve Pipe, and playing notable appearances such as Summerfest, along with a series of successful club and theater dates.

In 2007, POLYDREAM would pick up “New Artist of the Year” at the Madison Area Music Awards, release their full length album “Send Me to the Sun” and sign publicity, college radio, booking and publishing deals around the US and UK. Recently, the POLYDREAM songs “Catch Me If You Can” and “Hollywood,” have both been slowly climbing the College Radio charts. Britton will be presenting some of the awards at the 2008 Madison Area Music Awards.
