Genia Allard is very excited to continue to be a part of the teaching faculty at Rhapsody Arts Center as a teacher of beginner and intermediate piano and theater. This past summer she has been in charge of special projects for the studio.

Genia has lived in Madison for eight years. Before she became a faculty member for Rhapsody Arts Center she was a teacher at Preschool of the Arts in Madison, and has also taught music for A Step Above Dance and Music Academy in Monona. She earned a BFA in Theater Arts from Carroll College in 1998, having studied in different venues around the world. She has performed at the International Theatre Festival "Podium" in Moscow, the American Embassy in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and the University of San Jose, Coasta Rica, as well as theaters throughout Guatemala and El Salvador. She studied at the University of Nottingham, England as part of her degree. Genia has studied piano for over 20 years, most recently under June Reinke Brus of Carroll College. She also played the French horn for seven years. In 2003, she earned her Childhood Development Accreditation (CDA).

Currently, Genia is a member of the First Brigade Band in Watertown, WI as a vocalist and alto horn player. She is a Sunday school pianist and solo vocalist for The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Madison, as well as an active member of Lighthouse Singers, directed by Jonathon Overby. She studies voice under Wendy Rowe of Madison. Genia and her husband Craig have a young son, Samuel (7), who is learning to play the piano in his spare time. She believes in the philosophy: "Music is enough for a lifetime, but a lifetime is not enough for music."
